Kothapally Ramchandra Reddy, born in the late 1800s, was a respected elder from the village of Pullimamdi who lived a life that spanned over 95 years, witnessing significant changes in his time. He was the eldest son of Late K. Pulla Reddy. After the death of his father, he and his mother Smt. Kothapally Rangamma who was principled lady, took up the management of the joint family. He acquired several agricultural lands and he was one of the biggest pattedar of the Talque Ibrahimpatan.

Known for his wisdom, warmth, and strong sense of responsibility, he was a cornerstone of his community and a revered figure among his peers. Ramchandra Reddy’s life was a testament to the importance of family bonds, and he lived in a joint family arrangement with his two brothers and their families, fostering a sense of unity, support, and mutual respect. His love and care extended beyond his immediate family, as he was equally dedicated to his sisters and their families, ensuring that no one was ever left wanting.

Throughout his long life, Ramchandra Reddy was a loving father and a doting grandfather. He was not just a patriarch in name but also in spirit, nurturing the younger generations with the same love and guidance that had shaped his own life. His youngest son married the only daughter of Marri Channa Reddy, further strengthening the bond between two well-respected families. Ramchandra Reddy’s home was a place of warmth and hospitality, where each festival was celebrated with grandiose. Whether it was Diwali or Sankranti, his home was filled with the aroma of hundreds of homemade gulab jamuns, the sweetness of ripe mangoes, and the sounds of family and friends gathering to mark the occasion.

Despite his advanced age, Ramchandra Reddy was in remarkable health, maintaining his vitality well into his later years. His multilingual abilities—fluent in Urdu, Telugu, and Hindi—reflected his broad perspective and deep understanding of the cultural richness that surrounded him. He was a man of few but wise words, often sought after for counsel, and his opinions were highly valued in the community. His legacy endures not only in the stories and memories shared by his loved ones but also in the values of hospitality, family, and respect that he instilled in future generations.

He passed away on August 31st, 1990 at a ripe age of 97. The local government school with more than 450 bright and energetic students was started in the land donated by him. This is one of the biggest schools in the region. He also donated several hundred acres of land under Bhoodan. Ramchandra Reddy’s life was an embodiment of grace, tradition, and unwavering commitment to his family and community. A man who lived for nearly a century, he left an indelible mark on all who knew him, earning a place in the hearts of generations as a true symbol of strength, love, and wisdom.
